Hari Babu is a distinguished figure in the real estate industry, currently Serving as the President of the (NAREDCO) National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO), he is a well-respected leader and expert in the field. He initially held the position of President for four years at APREDA (Andhra Pradesh Real Estate Developers Association). Subsequently, the organization underwent a transformation into Naredco AP, and he continued to serve as its President for an additional four years. During his tenure, Mr. Hari Babu played a pivotal role in the expansion of Naredco AP, facilitating the establishment of 12 chapters and the enrolment of more than 1200 members. Presently, he holds the esteemed position of Chairman for the Andhra Pradesh chapter of the National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO). His business journey began in the late 1970s. In 1978, he developed various layouts for residential and industrial purposes and also constructed gated communities, including low-rise and high-rise apartments. In 1982, he entered the manufacturing industry, starting with a small-scale industry at MIDC (Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation) in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune. Subsequently, he established a major industry under the name of POWMEX Steel’s Limited in Titilagarh, Odisha, during 1990.
The same company entered into a public issue and received subscriptions of more than 18 times, with 1 lakh shareholders. In 1992, he ventured into the Telugu film industry, producing a successful movie. During 2000 and 2002, he produced and directed a couple of movies, both got selected as best feature film of Andhra Pradesh and also one of which was selected for an international film festival and both films received seven Nandi awards from the government of Andhra Pradesh. In 2005, he expanded into the hospitality industry with the creation of Lahari Resorts, one of the most prestigious and brand-building projects of the Lahari Group. Presently, he is involved in the acquisition of a prawn processing unit in Andhra Pradesh. G. Lahari Resorts was honoured with the title of "Best Maintained 3-Star Hotel (Regional)" for the year 2009-10 by the Department of Tourism, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
Lahari Resorts received recognition for excellence as the "Most Eco-Friendly Tourism Project" for the year 2008-09 from the Department of Tourism, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
Secured the 2nd Prize for Gardens Maintained by Private Companies at the Garden Festival organized by the Department of Horticulture, Government of Andhra Pradesh, in the year 2013.
Lahari Resorts was distinguished with the "Best 3-Star Classified Hotel" award for the year 2012 – 2013 by the Department of Tourism, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
Mr. Hari Babu received the prestigious "Nandi Award" from the A.P. State Government in the year 2000 for his feature film "Hindustan" in the category of "Best National Integrity Feature Film." He served as both the producer and director of this feature film.
The feature film "Hindustan," directed and produced by Mr. Hari Babu, also received three additional "Nandi Awards" in the categories of "Best Female Child Artist," "Best Male Child Artist," and "Best Makeup Man."
The feature film "Hindustan," directed and produced by Mr. Hari Babu, was selected for the "International Film Festival" in the same year.
In the year 2001, Mr. Hari Babu received another "Nandi Award" from the A.P. State Government for his feature film "Padma" in the category of "Best National Integrity Feature Film." Similar to "Hindustan," he served as both the producer and director of "Padma."
The feature film "Padma," directed and produced by Mr. Hari Babu, also received a "Nandi Award" in the Category of "Best Singer Award" in the same year.
